Kaylah Ivey, who started 1-for-10 from the floor, has taken over in the closing minutes for Rutgers. She briefly put RU ahead 46-43 with a three and she's hit another pair of jumpers in crunch time for a six-point lead.

Insane sequence. FDU runs out on a 4-on-3 after a rebound, Gerke's open 3-pointer misses but Kailee McDonald is there again for the offensive board.

She hits Renninger at the top for the second-chance three. Swish. FDU leads 41-39!

Better rebound period for RU in that quarter. But really, foul shots are the main reason they're ahead (12 made FTs to 5 for FDU)

End Q3: Rutgers 39, FDU 35.

RU has led by up to 7 thanks to some offense from their bigs, but they also keep getting into foul issues. Janae Walker was subbed out after her third foul, an offensive foul, and on the next possession Nene Ndiaye picked one up.

FDU's Madlena Gerke limps a bit as she's helped off the floor after a play under the Rutgers basket. She leads FDU with 11 points right now

Halftime at this barnburner: Rutgers 27, FDU 26.

Nene Ndiaye leads RU with eight points, but their best player has been Zachara Perkins (seven points, three reb, a great go-ahead three earlier)

FDU has taken 10 more shots; it has eight O boards + grabbed 10 RU turnovers.

FDU's Kailee McDonald is quick, cares about getting offensive rebounds, a good shooter and a better passer. Impressive showing from her so far.

End Q1: FDU 13, Rutgers 13.

FDU has missed its last nine shots but otherwise is the better team in the gym today. Outrebounding RU, fewer fouls than RU, more assists. Back-to-back offensive fouls on RU at one point. FDU's bench erupted - they believe they can win this.

However the Kansas game ends, this is a massive step forward for Princeton after the clunker in Akron just one week ago. I wrote about their win over Bucknell the other day and the promising traits they showed. guardenstate.substack.com/p/princeton-...
Princeton’s first win lessens some early concerns: ‘We got to grow real fast’
Princeton's will to win was best illustrated by two sequences in the second half against Bucknell.

Wow, Bill Self just subbed in a walk-on seven minutes into the game. He's pissed at his team's defensive effort. Princeton up 14-10!

Excellent sequence of rebounds by Princeton creates a three-point possession that also took about 50 seconds off the clock. One FT, second one missed but tipped out for an offensive rebound... then another offensive board before Dalen Davis scores a layup for a six-point lead

Malik Abdullahi is the first to pick up his fifth foul. Landon Clark comes in to play alongside Huggins.

Close one at the under-4! Princeton clinging to a 62-57 lead. ESPN+ has it if you want to catch the finish.
