People don't understand the difference between being informed and being an expert. The informed know the conclusions, the experts know the structures that led to those conclusions. They can thus properly weight both supporting and contradicting findings without getting lost in editorialism.

I miss debating complex topics. Not vaccines. Not tariffs. Amazing how topics where the overwhelming amount of knowledge favors one conclusion are now "political". Now every expert doesn't know anything, only conspiracy googlers and fringe quacks can save us 🙄 obscurantism sucks.
