A nice shift in perceived colour between central and peripheral vision. The fixated disc looks purple while the others look blue.
The effect presumably comes from the absence of S-cones in the fovea.

So we’re in battle in Baldur’s Gate late last night. We’re on the edge of victory. I have the high ground & a great shot - an amazing shot, actually. I use a spell that shoots 3 darts that never miss. They cause instant death.
