And same for everyone else.

There have been several incidents recently of citizens and ICE/feds getting into tense confrontations. What are your thoughts on people pushing back on these agents when they show up? Do the recent events concern you that one side or the other is out of control?

Nearing time for federal employees to just strike and let the chips fall, because it ain't going to get better by following the rules.

I suppose although this is all about "officers"-- but surely if POTUS has absolute authority over them he may fire at whim all other exec employees and needn't respect collective bargaining agreements and such. It would be perverse if POTUS can't fire a janitor but he can fire a Secretary.

WTF is Trump even in this? Not President of those countries. Can we have a single fucking story without Trump please?

The shadow docket chicanery on NLRB & FTC doesn't bode well for federal employee unions or a non-partisan civil service more generally, either, does it? Expect to see them dispatched similarly soon through "emergency" appeal of pending cases I suppose.

After a lengthy judicial ping pong game meant to obscure who is responsible in a fog of these sanctimonious shrill opinions, the courts will go along with the end of due process. It's all a charade.

Important to note, this is the case from Natl Treasury Employees Union. There's a second similar case from AFGE decided at district level in favor of the union, in a different circuit. So definitely not the end assuming the unions appeal.

Point being without nationwide injunctions, any affirmative right that in practice requires some action of the federal government is in jeopardy. It's just so dumb to think we can have federal laws, but federal courts can't make federal rulings.

Am I wrong: President declares guns are illegal. No more federal background checks (required by states for permits). No more ATF gun sales licenses. Seize any we can. W/o nationwide injunctions, potential gun owner must sue & if win, it's only local...

Is Rite Aide planning to sell the Bartell name as part of bankruptcy proceeding? I hope someone will take it and bring back the brand, it's still potent.
May 15, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Respectfully, I do not think you meant to call it a "ruling"?

"Trump issues another unenforceable and illegal impoundment demand" would be more accurate

"Ignorant dilettantes" is a terrific phrase, I love it. Sums up so much about these billionaire types.
