Noticer of things and rememberer.
I've watched both series and it's every bit as bad/great as you'd expect/hope.

Did you - like me - waste a turn to see if it would accept a rude word?

We're so post everything that kids today aspire to look like outback sheep shearers and Weird Al Jankovic.

Nah. Brilliantly cast, manipulated in the edit, "rules" subtly altered as needed to achieve drama but absolutely not scripted to a predestined result.

They've introduced an annoying new character called Scrappy Ted?

Today's principal male style icons appear to be Aussie sheep shearers and/or Weird Al Jankovic. It's utterly baffling. I reckon the seed was hipsters starting to wear those 80s wire-framed glasses about a decade ago and has become an all-consuming contagion.

Everyone's like this ON SOCIAL MEDIA. People are, in general, I feel, more sanguine IRL.

On the version I've seen, you can ask for hints. One for the year and one for location. I think googling stuff you've spotted in the image is fair game.

Do you ever use the clues when playing this?

Yes. Before we move forward to the George Benson / Luther Vandross years.

Mickey Newberry is good call too.

I'd say corner of Cookridge St and Great George Street. Outside what is now the Catholic cathedral.

Used to have the odd lunchtime pint there when I worked at YTV. Was very much an ordinary boozer. Seems weird to have a destination food pub in that location but fair play to them for pulling it off.

I was there. IIRC, One of Inspiral Carpets behind me in the queue didn't get in because they closed the doors just as he got to the front.

Yes. I love a non-twiddly guitar solo. Will Sergeant's slashing on E&TB's Broke My Neck springs to mind, in a kind of similar vein.

I went through a stage of feeling its literary references might be a little too self-conscious but came to realize that it was me not LC that was gauche and that cleverness in music should be celebrated rather than hidden. And the tunes are undeniable.

If push came to shove, probably the album that means more to me than any other. Certainly the one I've listened to the most.

I liked the idiosyncratic beer selection and the student bedroom atmosphere. Sounds like the aroma is more Lynx Africa than patchouli incense now.

What a shame. It did have a unique vibe - one that I'll miss if it's no longer there.

Sad to hear this.

(Forgive me for butting in.) I've not been in since it changed hands. Judging from their insta it seems to be thriving but there appears to be a dodgy turn on almost every night.
