It wouldn't even be that hard, Sonic wants to save his friends and Sage wants to save Eggman, they already have a similar goal. Sonic can enter cyberspace and Sage knows all about the Ancients, have them reluctantly team up.

I've always found Sage to be a great idea that was never taken advantage of. I think there was an opportunity here to actually give her some presence in the story and give her a stronger connection to Sonic to help develop her character.

I like the idea of Tangle and Whisper, I just don’t think they’ve been handled very well.

It is cool that Tangle and Whisper got in, as long as they stay there and don't touch the mainline games. IDW is flawed enough without it seeping into the games IMO.
