Recent purchase while traveling for Baltimore Comic-Con: "Louis Armstrong Plays W.C. Handy." Recorded in 1954, the album has been remastered with bonus tracks. Incredibly, it was made with Handy hanging out in the studio, while the band played songs he wrote at the start of the 20th century.

It still drives me crazy that the Dire Straits box set "The Studio Albums 1978 -1991" does not include their 1983 four-track EP, which memorably includes the song "Twisting by the Pool."

C'mon, you guys. If you're flipping through back issues of Fantastic Four looking for the lord of all Latveria, you're Doomscrolling.

Reminds me of this seminal work…

It’s such a badass move to draw a cover without the main characters from the series. Not sure who else besides Kirby could even get away with it.

No cheating: Post your Lock Screen!

This is the display poster for the Marvel black light posters from the early 70s. I used to own one of these.

Maybe this one? Adaptation by Evanier and Divono, art by Dan Spiegle. I never saw the movie, but I can’t imagine it’s very good.

I discovered Starlin with Captain Marvel #30 (January 1974), an issue I bought because it had the Controller on the cover - the villain from Iron Man #28, a comic given to me by my grandparents.

I would nominate the genius behind these.

Beautiful. Reminds of this classic comic strip by Harvey Kurtzman, creator of Mad Magazine.

I have another lovely piece of Alex Ross art up for auction on Comiclink, closing this Friday, May 9. This is a very cool unused concept drawing for Amazing Spider-Man #25 shining a spotlight on the Green Goblin. Check it out here and get those bids in! www.comiclink.com/auctions/ite...

What is with these idiots and the made-up term "war-fighting"?

It me, registered with two clients (maybe more to come?) for the ComicsPro meeting.

We've seen a bunch of time-traveling villains in the series already - but the Collector at least has something specific he's trying to do. I may be partial to him as he was the villain of the first issue of Avengers I ever bought myself, #119.

Just as he sits in the SRI's seat, a mysterious figure enters.

TO BE CONTINUED!

Right here - same team as last issue, including "Frankie Ray." The story opens with a shot of Hawkeye that's as cool as anything John Buscema might have drawn.

Hawkeye gets up, now knowing how to get the message.

...to get back to the team, he knocks the champ out with one punch.

(The stories keep saying CA has no super powers, but when he needs to K.O. the champ, it seems real easy for him.)

Back to the team - Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch are trapped in glass tubes, but SW hexes her way out.
