Do you teach #rstats? Do your students complain about how lame and old-fashioned dplyr is? Don't worry: I have the solution for you: github.com/hadley/genzp....

genzplyr is dplyr, but bussin fr fr no cap.

New visualization tool alert!

The vayr package version 1.0.0 is now on CRAN.

It contains position adjustments for ggplot2 that help with overplotting in pleasing ways. My favorite is position_sunflower().

Trying something new:
A 🧵 on a topic I find many students struggle with: "why do their 📊 look more professional than my 📊?"

It's *lots* of tiny decisions that aren't the defaults in many libraries, so let's break down 1 simple graph by @jburnmurdoch.bsky.social

For new users just exploring the fact that you can choose your algorithms here, I highly recommend the "Quiet Posters" feed (which highlights users you follow who don't post that often, but have finally chosen to speak up): bsky.app/profile/did:...

For any new #rstats folks joining us On Here: I run a custom feed that collects R related posts, at the link in the post below! More information about the feed itself in the quoted post.

bsky.app/profile/did:...
A brief thread on mechanics of my #rstats feed for anyone wondering

tl;dr the feed picks up:
- top-level posts (so no replies, but yes quote posts)
- containing rstats, rladies, or rspatial (# optional)
- that are standalone words (so "awesome-rstats" yes, "cyberladies" no)
