It’s an attempt to get AI artists to earnestly try to answer these questions, and get on record as many people saying what I think they will say, so I can have as much evidence as I can to make the case I’m going to make for a video on AI art and the alienation of labor.

The real people who are left out in discussions about AI art - those too lazy to prompt. Won’t somebody think of them?

That guy sucks, but the sad thing is that 10 years ago, his band was putting out great blog posts on indie touring and booking as a jazz band in markets that don’t do jazz (deep south, etc)

I just can’t imagine people in early hip hop or jazz or EDM or whatever caring AT ALL. The main goal of nascent musical movements was to make the coolest shit, and nothing but the coolest shit.

That certainly is not the goal or the result of GenAI.

I don’t really care what they’re called. I’m just fascinated that the result of a year of this tech being out there is a community deeply anxious about the value of their work.

I find it all just so sad, really.

The band is counting in/playing to click. The beat is being produced in a DAW. “One” is practice, not just analysis.
