On this day, I am reminded of the American men and women who sacrificed so much so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. May we honor their memory by living our lives with honor, decency, and love toward each other. May God watch over and bless the United States of America.

I am deeply disturbed and outraged by the hateful vandalism that occurred at Reno High, which included a swastika and other forms of hate speech. There is no place—none—for this kind of disgusting, cowardly behavior in our schools, our community, or anywhere in our society.

It’s not every day I get to grow a stache in a matter of hours thanks to the fifth graders at Miguel Sepulveda Elementary who celebrated one of their spirit days as “mustache day.”
