I’ve never tried Svelte, but I love VueJS (and before that Knockout.js). Last I looked at the documentation for Svelte, I thought it seemed very similar to Vue. Is there anything I’m overlooking that should cause me to consider switching?

I think you could use `padded_normalized_word.each_cons(3)` in that last method.

It depends IMO: If you only want to allow certain operations on the model for certain statuses, a status field is very much appropriate. If you want to be able to answer questions like “when did this model transition from this state to that?”, why not go all the way and just use Event Sourcing?
