I watched much of this discussion on YouTube last night. Graber’s vision is democratic and inspiring. An open-source approach to social media could be a countermeasure to the closed platforms operated by billionaires who often have clear political agendas.

As the costs of consumer goods rise, our most economically-vulnerable neighbors suffer first. I hope that the media will continue to focus on these stories to ground abstract tariff policies in lived experiences.

Chrome is a behemoth! Plus, Google’s recent advocacy for digital fingerprinting, which it once opposed, indicates that serving up “personalized” ads is only going to make the platform more intrusive on individual privacy. We need less monopoly and more competition to protect users.

It will be interesting to see what tasks humans develop. And it will be particularly exciting to see what use cases increasingly intelligent and contextual models suggest.
