They’re not lying for the sake of well educated liberals who discuss politics on Bluesky and can spot obvious bullshit, they’re lying for their base of mouth breathers who’ve given up what little critical reasoning they may have ever had in order to feel something for the first time in years

The replies are filled with self identified leftists talking about how this proves elected democrats are collaborating/plotting with the far right, and none are questioning if the story is accurate, because every report of democratic betrayal must be true and they’re immune to propaganda

These media outlets know it doesn’t matter if the story immediately debunked, as this one was, because the point is to keep sowing conflict on the left (broadly defined) and redirect fire away from the GOP. This is a very strong business model and they’re sticking with it.

Related, one of the things I don’t like about this site is how people block and remove every slightly critical comment to give the impression that everyone agrees with their takes, that thread is just a bunch of people nodding their empty heads together and saying “exaaaactly”

Because the GOP is a fascist cult with a core of true believers, the media gives it favorable coverage while picking apart Democrats, and most voters barely pay attention to anything beyond headlines.

The argument is actually that the left saw the threats from Trump and shrugged, said Harris was just as bad and if you wanted our votes you should have given us what we wanted (and many claimed it was too late to do that anyway). What was there to work with, exactly?

The important thing is to always listen to Palestinians! Except when they say things that western leftists don't like, at which point they become "Palestinians" who are too deluded and uninformed to know what's best for them.
