My mother in law died very unexpectedly a few years ago. That evening my husband’s phone sprang to life and started playing her favourite song at full volume. It wasn’t a track he had downloaded or had ever played before. I’m sceptical about most spiritual type stuff but some things feel spooky.

I assume that the trust assets originally consisted of cash in a trust bank account. That cash was used to buy the share of the house. So now the trusts assets consist of the share of the house instead. AR hasn’t profited per se, as she now has the cash but no share in the house. But optics are bad

Travelling from the UK to US, it always seems strange that they take your card away to process the transaction. We have always been told that the card shouldn’t leave your sight.

I’ve never had any issues with payments in the US, but there has to be potential for fraud?

Caledonian Road is absolutely fantastic, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I read all of this year’s Booker longlist and this was my favourite, hands-down. Seems the judges didn’t agree tho.
