I'm taking a slight detour to Portugal this weekend because I've been asked to speak at the American Club of Lisbon about my run for Congress.

We keep losing ground because we refuse to conduct pragmatic politics. We got so wrapped around the axel of an internal conversation, while Republicans learned the worst politics and got really good at them.

But right now, some MAGA voters know this has gone too far.

My answer: “We are actually more durable than you think. There’s still a scrappiness to the American identity that is showing through in these moments.”
