✨ Recently, I had the honour of attending the Day of the Barcelona '63 Infantry Regiment of the 🇪🇺🇪🇸 Spanish Army 🪖, held at the historic Bruc Barracks.

✨ Recently, I had the distinct honour of attending the Regimental Day of the Barcelona '63 Infantry Regiment of the 🇪🇺🇪🇸 Spanish Army 🪖, held at the historic Bruc Barracks. The ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Mr Manuel Busquier Sáez, Chief of the Army’s General Inspectorate, accompanied by the Government Delegate in Catalonia, Mr Carlos Prieto, alongside Colonel Pedro Valdés, Commander of the Regiment. 👥 The event brought together senior officials from the Armed Forces and Security Corps, institutional representatives from the city of Barcelona, esteemed international experts, and a proud gathering of citizens, neighbours, families, and friends of the Regiment and the Army. 🌥️ As the ceremony unfolded, the looming clouds behind the barracks complex served as a poignant metaphor for the challenges confronting the defence of Europe —our democratic systems, our cherished values, and our freedoms, all of which face growing threats. Yet, in contrast, the radiant sunlight bathing the soldiers and civilians in attendance imbued us with renewed energy and optimism. It was a powerful reminder that, when it truly matters, if we persevere and remain steadfast, all shall be well. 🛡️ The Regiment’s own motto encapsulates this spirit: «BY THEIR DEEDS SHALL YOU KNOW THEM» / «POR SUS HECHOS, LES CONOCERÁN» 📸 Pictured are Lieutenant General Busquier, Colonel Valdés, and several soldiers of the Regiment, standing proudly in the parade ground of the Bruc Barracks.
