100% silence throughout. even the meteor would be silent

and I'm not going to get into the game of "let's give adam ever more increasingly extreme examples"

i'm not a monster, I know my students, anyone is welcome to visit, and I (conveniently) publish videos of me teaching so they are welcome to watch those too.

I feel like you have asked me this question before, and I always answer it the same way: if a student has a need on their EHCP that has to be met, I will meet it 💪

i know, i struggle with this. but i put in a lot of effort to trying to get more people to come here, and very few did

not sure, haven't tried

i needed a refresh. tone, content, everything. substack has helped me kick start that. it also means I can have it more as a "carousel" thing, and others from the team will hopefully post and collaborate too in due course on matters of teaching, learning and leadership

there are still WAY more teachers there than anywhere else, so it's about reach. i really resent it, and remaining there is not an easy decision.

we should definitely impose silence on students, and I think Ben has elevated my descriptor. I use it to describe the point in "noise" at which interruptions will not disturb the room. I think using the language with students and actively teaching them what it means is genius

I don't think it's trite. The problem was that this school ostensibly genuinely cared. They had brought me in. They had someone else in to deliver other CPD. They set aside time and effort for it. They just had no clue what they were doing
