V tomhle klimatu nemůže (přinejmenším morálně) nevyhrát Billie Eilish, která aspoň pořád zosobňuje to, čemu se ještě před pár desítkami let říkalo populární hudba 🥱 Máte jiného favorita? 🙂

Přesto - nebo snad právě proto - že jde o písničky víceméně zaměnitelné a za dva tři roky po nich nebude ani památky, má každá z nich osm, deset i víc koncernových "producentů".

Problém současného popu pak není v tom, že by se kamsi posouval (old man Rick Beato sings at clouds), ale že už se nehýbe vůbec: půlku letošních nominací tvoří covery z 2. až 3. ruky (Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga), někdy jen s novým vokálem (Doechii), a zbytek girlypop (Sabrina Carpenter).

Další nominované singly mají Sting, Lionel Richie nebo Flashdance a všichni interpreti si je napsali sami. Cenu vyhlašují Bob Dylan a Stevie Wonder, a tak máte právem pocit, že jste svědky něčeho trošku směrodatného.

There are also dozens of people proofreading and rating pitch decks and screenplays, now being replaced by ScriptSens-an equally terrible idea, in my view. Affleck dismisses this as absurd but claims that “500 people probably shouldn’t be working on effects for the next superhero movie anyway”.

If that were the case, he wouldn’t distinguish it from AI-assisted screenwriting at all. Yet he repeatedly stresses that “special effects people are in trouble” and that “we won’t have to go to the North Pole”. To him, VFX are merely “a tool,” whereas screenwriting occupies a different category.

The way he dismisses AI screenwriting and acting as “terrible, useless, never happening,” yet welcomes replacing all of VFX as “useful, reasonable, cost saving,” is pathetic and symptomatic. Textbook actor-observer bias.

The cadence, gesturing, and note-checking make this sound like a performance he delivers twice a week. Beyond the form, I find it infuriating (yet typical) that an actor thinks replacing screenwriters and actors is “terrible, lame, average,” while replacing VFX is “logical, useful, and saves money.”

My favorite “feature” of recent years is when you save a layered file, close Photoshop, and then discover that the file is corrupted and can’t be opened. File recovery was better 15 years ago.

I just read that firemen in Chernobyl were told to drink a lot of milk in the hospital following lethal radiation exposure. It made them all violently sick.

Připomíná mi to pasáže z Husákovy biografie od Michala Macháčka o poměrech v Bratislavě 40. let, kde se kolaboranti fašistického Štátu a komunističtí pohlaváři v ilegalitě znali z kaváren a pojily je různé provinční rodinné vazby ze třetího kolene. Každý chvilku tahá pilku💆🏻
