What bugs me with these claims that the left has moved and the right hasn't, apart from inaccuracy, is that it presumes it would be a bad thing. It shouldn't be a badge of honor to claim your values and opinions haven't evolved in a hundred years.

Well that seems often the natural outcome of conservatives obsession with stamping out anyone insufficiently deserving of help: add bureaucratic costs and inefficiencies, add burdens on recipients. Without balance, it adds up to more waste and pain than accepting a small fraction of potential abuse.

No reason to stop. The media is already capitulating or under attack. Next on to private companies, entertainment, non-compliant blue states... Hard to see where that stops. By the time they get to things most American people do care about it may be too late to go back and save democracy.
