PEEK did something similar, as they took over Page in 1994 and GEC in 1995, they used up all of the GEC & Page RAG stock by 1997 and started using their own branded Mellors, the Elite was released in 1998, but because the TSRGD didn’t permit 200m peds, they kept using Page Mellor peds up until 2000

That is really strange, as far as I was aware, Siemens had dropped the Mellor design in August 2001 for the Helios, there is every chance that they still could’ve been assembling and installing left over stock to use as like for like replacements of damaged Mellor lanterns

I’ve always thought that GEC and Page Signals Mellors were always the most durable, I technically have a Page RAG, but its from the very early 80s so it’s branded Philips, as Page took over Philips (traffic) in the summer of 1984

It’s the perfect time to start collecting Mellors and older lanterns since they are starting to be mass replaced, it’s gotten worse since the standard incandescent bulbs for them were banned from sales in September 2023, some councils are even saving working bulbs from their scrapped lanterns!

Looks good, is that a Siemens/Plessey Mellor?
