This horrific act should remind us that behind every policy disagreement are real people with families who love them. We must recommit ourselves to stand united against those who choose violence over discourse.

Political violence has absolutely no place in our democracy. When we target elected officials for their service, we attack the very foundation of our democratic system and the communities they represent.

Let’s recommit ourselves to building a society where every person can live, work, and worship without fear.

My thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time, and with the broader Jewish community. I know from my own community and experience that tragedies like this can feel deeply personal, whether or not the victims are known directly.

The fight against antisemitism is a fight for American values. We must unequivocally condemn hatred in all its forms and stand united against those who seek to divide us through fear and violence.
