There's probably no subsection of the population that is more prone to the Fundamental Attribution Error, right? That's the core of Republican policies, so makes total sense.

Dems also underestimated how the non-primary pick of Harris would turn indy voters off. I talked with several of my indy friends and they all mentioned how that was an issue. Now, I don't agree with that at all, but that's what people were thinking

Biden had an indy likeability because he was a bit of a meme....he was on Parks and Rec, he had the aviator bit, Scanton Joe (which The Office helped with), he had funny bits with Obama, etc. Harris just didn't have that part of it.

As far as POTUS voting, we've missed that a big influx of new voters over the last few years just don't pay attention to policy. There's still a "connection" that people think they need to have. Harris had a great connection with the Dem base, but just didn't have it with the indys

This has been the GOP strategy for 20 years now and Democrats haven't figured out how to counteract it. We take the bait every time.
