The first Twilight movie implies that Bella and Alice drove from Forks, Washington to Phoenix Arizona during the same period of sunlight. That's a 24 hour drive!

I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder

Finally some good free chairs in Chicago. I haven't seen many since I moved back 2.5 years ago (chairs on curbs was practically endemic in San Francisco)
A bunch of wooden dining chairs stacked on top of each other at the curb on a street. There's so many that they spread back into the parkway. Probably a good ten chairs easily

yesterday got a real cheap kindle 3g from the thrift store. after a battery replace and jailbreaking it, i can do the thing i love doing with devices: customizing them in really silly ways
