Regular maintenance is required for anything so I’m not sure what you’re getting at here. Also cold climate heat pumps are a thing. So unless you live somewhere truly far north you’re incorrect.

I didn’t say be more engaging I said learn how to motivate your students. There is absolutely no reason AP students can’t read one book a month. We averaged 2 a month in AP Lit and AP Lang.

From laughable professional development courses, using disproven pedagogy, teachers being unable to articulate what pedagogy they are using, teachers being unable to answer a simple question such as does your school/district use RTI or MTSS I think there is plenty of blame for teachers to go around.

But to absolve teachers of any responsibility is wholly irresponsible. You may know what goes on inside your classroom and maybe even some of your coworkers classrooms but that doesn’t mean it’s representative of what’s happening nationwide.

I’m sorry you don’t receive the support required from administration and by extension the school board to meet the needs of your learners but that is the whole point of the conversation being had. If me generalizing the issue to “teachers” is something you take issue with than that’s understandable.

I’m sorry but I spend plenty of time in classrooms not just your single classroom. You seem to be taking this personally when it is not about a single classroom but classrooms on average. I know it’s not easy but it is your job to support learners of various levels.
