Not sure why anyone would ever read this. ✌️Hi, stranger!
Why is all of society so vehemently against room-temperature beverages? Could I just get some caffeine without burning my mouth or getting my hands all clammy? Thank you

I just found out we used to eat salads like the leaves were little tortillas, to wrap other foods and dip them in sauces. We only started making our own lives harder when rich people started using salad forks. Please can we go back to eating salads normally, I can’t deal with these leaf shapes 😫

You vote to make your voice heard. I vote to explore random semi-public buildings. We are not the same.

It would be cool if the AI bubble pop happens in 2029, exactly 100 years after the great stock market bubble pop in 1929. Not great, but kinda cool nonetheless. Our great-grandkids in 2128 would be very freaked out.

My dream office atmosphere is an empty table in a nice train, watching the world go by and surrounded by the rhythmic hum of the train tracks. 😩👌 @wework.bsky.social can you get on this? I’ll also accept a nice bus. 🙏

PSA: It’s not free for groups to list their meetings on Meetups. It’s allegedly $30/month. You have to pay to build a community. How fucked is that??

Why do we still use robotic “press 9” menus. Just put that shit on the website as an option for what phone number to click on. Like… we *have* the technology. The fuck are we stewing in agony for.

There’s a special place in hell for whoever decided that software companies shouldn’t put screenshots of using their software front & center on the homepage…

Did Europeans only end up with Sofas because of big boots needed for cold weather? Equatorial cultures seem to always have cushions with mats, low stools, etc. I wonder if warm weather is the common denominator, and boots/cold is the force that drove us up off the floor.

We should put PBS, CSPAN, etc. on all streaming platforms (Netflix etc.). Make it just as ‘available’ as it was before streaming. Put it back on the ‘menu’ next to all the other shows, like it used to be with Cable.

Give people the option to connect with their local community & government.

Slightly cooler weather today in Central Texas. I know it’s probably just a post-rain afterglow, but today’s slightly drier, slightly cooler air almost makes me feel like we’re somewhere else in the country - perhaps Denver, or east coast. It’s a good day.

There may be limitations to how LLM “thinking” works without inventing new words for different logical thought processes. The 1900s philosophers of languages would concur, I think.

Wait, so trees are like… evaporative heat-sinks for the ground?? 🌏🌱 Are we not worried about the groundwater getting brought up through the trees and evaporated out of the leaves?

I never realized how growing up poor makes every customer service interaction 10x more stressful.

When you grow up shopping at discount stores like Walmart, you expect to be treated like crap.

Even in an emergency, you won’t ask for special treatment. 1/2

Having someone explain something to you is such an underrated way to bond.

It sucks that you don’t ask other people simple questions anymore, since you can just google everything. You wouldn’t want to be rude and make someone think you’re too dumb or lazy to look it up on your own.

No deal for Ghislaine Maxwell — she won’t say a true word the whole deposition. Giving her a deal will be bartering away her victims’ justice when we can still look at bank records.

#Project2029 Statute of limitations on sex crimes should not exist. Getting away with crimes against kids for 7 years shouldn’t mean you get to be let off the hook.

If laptops are so prone to overheating, and fingers are so prone to freezing up when typing in the cold, then why don’t we have laptops that blow the fan air onto our keyboard?? 😭
