Foster your #imagination!

Open your mind to all the #art and #literature and #history and #experiences that you can. All of them help feed the playful mind of an #actor.

NEVER let your #curiosity fade.

“ART IS PURSUING AN ACT OF SELF-EXPLORATION ON BEHALF OF AN AUDIENCE.”

Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Shrinking) says Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Serenity) told him that.

Brian Cox & Jeremy Strong were stellar on #Succession.

It’s ok if you prefer #Strasberg or another approach.

If Strong needs #method acting to reach truth, so be it. Cox makes a valid point that it can alienate castmates. Study it all. Find what works for you.

A script is not a #Thanksgiving recipe where you follow the steps to reach an outcome.

#Actors may know all the words to say, but interpretation, emotion, and even who they are on stage with can all create a nuanced performance that is like no one else’s.

While thinking of what to post first on this account, which is meant to inspire actors, I came across a motivational sentiment from #Meisner: just go!

In class, an #actor should be welcome to let go, allowed to overdo it and free to become unbecoming.
