We’re at the same point, I guess (5k EGF / 2k KGS) but the steps ahead are incredibly hard to climb.
At the same time, if you’re a teenager or in your early 20s, you can make it within a year with dedication.

Ah… the shodan dream… we’ve all been on that path. The bitter truth is that you’d better start young to achieve it… it’s the law of diminishing returns strikes hard when you’re closing the distance.

It’s the true one-game ! Easy to learn, hard to master… Value both deep thinking and instinct / aesthetics of good (efficient) shapes. A pity it is not more accessible to westerners. A true hidden gem IMHO.
