I love cats, video gaming, hiking, camping, cooking, and my family.

I am not a cat.
Yeah, I realized that after I posted that. Bluesky handles the block weirdly.

I have no idea what you're referring to. I never used the word roaches.

The person who started the conversation. One of the participants blocked me, apparently for opposing genocide, so I think the conversation is broken as a result.

The only good slaver is a dead slaver. But not everyone who lived in the South during and after the U.S. civil war was a slaver. That's all I'm saying. To have genocided the whole lot of them makes one no better than a Nazi.

You did not quote my words.
December 19, 2025 at 11:55 PM
You've oversimplified my words and now you're arguing against that. That's called "creating a strawman".
December 19, 2025 at 11:51 PM
I'm not advocating for that. I'm pointing out that you can't simplify it that much without becoming the monster you're fighting against.

In single player games, especially if they're designed with this limitation in mind, it's almost a non-issue.

In PvP games, where reaction speed can be limited by framerate, framerate becomes a major bottleneck to competitive play. Opinion simply doesn't play into the equation.

This is exactly why I patently refuse to pay for TSA PreCheck, despite having a squeaky clean criminal record, and no financial barrier.

Someone asked a question, "Is executing every Nazi genocide?"

Instead of giving a simple answer, "Yes". I'm demonstrating why the answer is yes. It's an important thing to do when you're advocating against violence against specific members of a historically violent and intolerant regime.
December 19, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Sure, but by 1943, anyone who hadn't joined the Nazi party who was still living in Germany was subject to all sorts of horrid repercussions. Not everyone who joined the Nazi party did so because they agreed with Nazi ideals.

Which is why I'm advocating for an evidence based approach.
December 19, 2025 at 11:06 PM
There's no such thing as a good Nazi. What I'm doing is pointing out that unless you use an evidence based approach, then you become no better than the Nazi regime when you start killing people on a loose definition of Nazi.
December 19, 2025 at 10:35 PM
What if some of the guards on the camps were providing information to the allies? Do they get a pass, if they were actively working against the Nazi regime, or do we automatically include them because they were "Nazi"?
December 19, 2025 at 10:18 PM
My point is that arguing against clemency for the South must have a clearly defined limit on who gets rounded up and executed, otherwise it would be genocide of innocent people. Lots of people got caught up in Nazi Germany who were only attempting to survive. We can't just say "genocide Nazis".
December 19, 2025 at 10:04 PM
In the context of genocide, how do we define who is and who is not a Nazi? The American Nazi Party(MAGA) is currently occupying the U.S. government. Am I complicit because I live in the United States and I have not joined a protest because I fear for my own safety and that of my immediate family?
December 19, 2025 at 9:51 PM
It is relevant. You're quoting a portion of something someone said and then attempting to argue against it on logical grounds while ignoring the rest of their point.
December 19, 2025 at 8:17 PM
Not everything is morally black and white. The fact that genocide is wrong *is* though. I hope you're not suggesting the morally right course of action would've been to genocide the Southern states following the U.S. civil war.

Meanwhile, you can host your own private game servers for many games for between $5-$20/month.

A lot of us dumped our consoles and play exclusively PC games now. No Man's Sky, Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2, Icarus(Survival). None of them cost a dime to play online.

And still no official PC version.

Better yet, just wait to buy it until it comes out on GOG. Then you own a digital copy.

A better motto might be, "In Science We Don't Trust."

I say this because Science is a process by which we can find truth, and not an establishment or institution which anyone blindly believes is inherently trustworthy.

Also, because this motto would throw the brainworm believers for a loop.
