When I first moved to Abu Dhabi, we went to Zak Ové’s Black Starliner show at one our favorite Dubai galleries. He was there and we found out we shared a bunch of East Village and London friends in common.

We got one of his doily paintings, made from vintage and new doilies knit by Syrian refugees
