So even if they were shut down, people would still be able to move to other servers without losing their data. At most you'll lose followers/followed accounts as their handles change.

It's open-source and kinda decentralized.
While most people have their accounts in the bsky.social server, many do not, and it's easy to migrate an account to a different server. Bluesky (the company) only controls their servers, not those of other people.
