5 PLANT-BASED PROTEIN SOURCES Soy Chunks (TVP) • Extremely cheap and flexible, use them how you would chicken pieces or tofu. Great in curry, pasta dishes, and stir fries. • 50g per 100g Lentils • A cheap, nutritional powerhouse. They’re also very flexible, you can have them as your main protein source of a meal, or use them in place of minced meat. • 25.8g per 100g Chickpeas • Use them to make hummus or falafel, as the main protein source of a curry, on their own with rice or worked into a salad. You can also just air fry/grill them with some oil and spices for a crunchy snack. • 20g per 100g Seitan • Seitan is a staple in plant-based cooking because it is so easy to work with and soaks up the flavour of whatever you put in it. Try it as the main part of a meal, or to replace chicken or beef. • 25g per 100g Nuts • All nuts are high in protein, the humble peanut is the protein per 100g listed below. Great as a high-protein snack, and nut butter can be incorporated into a shake or porridge to add extra nutrients. • 26g per 100g

Infographic listing the following facts: 01 Animal Deaths: To satisfy our appetite for animal products, we slaughter 900k cows, 1.4m goats, 1.7m sheep, 3.8m pigs, 12m ducks, 202m chickens, and hundreds of millions of fish every single day. 02 Emissions: Animal agriculture is responsible for at least 11% of GHG emissions according to the FAO, with some estimates suggesting as high as 17% of global emissions. 03 Land Use: We use roughly half of global habitable land for agriculture, and more than 3/4 of that agricultural land is used to feed and graze livestock. 04 Water Use: Meat and dairy are responsible for approximately 30–40% of agriculture’s water demands, despite providing only 18% of the world’s calories. 05 Deforestation: The expansion of pasture land for cattle was responsible for 41% of tropical deforestation. Most came from Brazil, where 72% of deforestation is driven by cattle ranching.
