Zhang et al. present the in situ construction of low-defect conductive pathways through selective chemical etching of amorphous carbon regions. This approach successfully achieves the property integration, leading to dramatically improved electrochemical kinetics for supercapacitors.

Integrating large surface area and high electric conductivity within activated carbon is critical; yet remains challenging due to their inherent trade-off.
