Also, is it standard to grant an administrative stay while a case is pending in the Circuit court when that court already denied the same request? Not unheard of, but is it standard?

It's the same ridiculous takes everywhere it seems. Whenever a someone on the left loses, it's because they should've gone right. When someone on the left wins, it's deemed an anomaly.

There has to be some shift in the status quo -- that's for sure. I dont feel like I have a good sense of how the incentives will play out. E.g., will small firms me content training and then losing their associates? We will have to rethink the bar's position on non-competes? Lots of questions!

Finally, never hear stories about the time lawyers saved using AI, or the theories/claims/defenses they were able to raise with the help of AI. Those stories are not entertaining, and they largely go unnoticed by judges.

To me, it seems more likely that these hallucinations can be fixed going forward. And any lawyer that falls victim to this has no one to blame but himself. Also, I think it's fairly common that bad case law gets cited bc of a lack of care even without AI -- it's a symptom of the same problem.

I hear you! So many issues. If AI is being used, how will new attorneys effectively learn, if they don't, how do they become good, experienced attonreys? All while using more energy. It feels existential. I just dont see how the industry (world) turns away from it.

I'm not sure how much we should care what law professors want. There is often a huge bias against chsnge, which I understand. IMO, when it comes to AI, we should focus on teaching what it is good and bad at, and how to use it effectively. A huge challenge because it's a moving target.

And knowing a bit about how corporations and law firms work, it's hard for me to imagine a world where they are not going to rely on this technology, even with its flaws.

I agree with these points. There is a push to use AI in ways beyond its capabilities right now. I'm very worried about the dangers of AI overall. But I've found that it can, in some circumstances, improve efficiency and the quality of the work product. ...

This feels like wishful thinking. I'm a partner at an AMLAW 200 firm. I expect AI to have a huge impact on, if not decimate, the legal services industry. A few examples about the misuse of AI is not going to change that.

ICE arrested comedian Robby Roadsteamer for singing a parody of Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” in a Jeffrey Epstein the Giraffe costume outside their facility.
He sings “If you hate brown people / and you are a Nazi” and ICE thugs grab him and drag him into detention. No violence—just speech.
