if you're one person making a comic by yourself, don't treat yourself like you should function on the same level as comics that have multiple people working on them. your backgrounds can be squiggles and colors.

allow yourself room to be abstract with details and give yourself some grace

Fake Peppino turns to look at Peppino, who is busy working a short distance away. Peppino is shoveling the snow around his restaurant, and he is heavily bundled up in a warm puffy coat, scarf, hat, and boots. Fake Peppino observes with a neutral, attentive expression. Peppino continues shoveling for several more minutes, tossing a shovel full of snow in a pile to clear a path around his restaurant. Sweaty and taking a breather, he pulls down his scarf to exhale a misty breath in the cold air. Suddenly, his eyes go wide as he's startled by the sound of crunching footsteps in the snow, coming from somewhere behind him. Peppino turns to see Fake Peppino walking up to him. Fake Peppino is smiling uncannily like he always does, and is wearing an undersized, unzipped winter coat and a pair of equally undersized fur-rimmed winter boots. Fake Peppino bends over and gets to work "shoveling" by using his long tongue to scoop up a large pile of snow and pull it to the side, his face deforming grotesquely in the process. It is snowing steadily around Peppino's Pizzeria, with the landscape being coated in several inches of snow. The panel is interrupted by a melty, glitchy memory from Peppino's POV of his shoes stepping into snow, and then POV cuts to Fake Peppino staring down at his shoes in a similar fashion, standing on concrete in front of a patch of snow. Fake Peppino is standing by the back door of Peppino's Pizza. He cocks his head curiously at the snow, and, mirroring what he remembers doing, he steps out into it. He immediately freezes and grimaces upon contact with the snow, surprised by how cold it feels against his shoe. He immediately pulls back and protectively holds his leg up to his chest, staring down at the snow with an apprehensive frown.
