Because the temperatures in June, July, August are considered dangerous and not suitable to play in Barcelona and Rome, so why should they be suitable for two of the *coldest* cities in MLS. Look, a soccer league in the US is going to play in some shit weather! It’s both too hot and too cold!

MLS punishments for the Leagues Cup brawl are totally appropriate and on par, if not way exceeding, what is the standard practice for violations committed in competitions outside those in which they are punished

Hilarious penalty conceded by RBNY2 against Fire II (in a game tying the record for worst loss in MLSNP, 9-2 for Chicago). Shookalook only ever using his right foot like he’s going to be shot if he uses the left, the clear handball, the attempt at justifying the play with the ref. 10/10 no notes

this is what the official roster rules page says. So the ability to change roster construction models isn’t based on having the generic GAM funds (VWFC has $1.9m according to roster profiles) but on not having spend *that specific* GAM. Imho it’d be much simpler the other way

I did not expect to see on a field during one of my many Swedish sports experiences former Portland Thorns Izzy D’Aquila. I had completely missed her move to Sweden. PSA: Malmö, despite being promoted, are good. They’re coming for Rosengard’s crown in the city (and in Sweden)

Lots of talk about the bad urbanism of US stadiums but possibly the greatest downgrade ever in the history of stadiums is what Messina did from the stadium on the left to the monstrosity on the side (you can see it from the highway above, it’s mostly dug into the ground, just ugly stuff)

Considering that basically every Swedish person is really good at speaking English you have to assume that all of them at some point gotta be weirded out when they realise that a very common and normal word in their language is basically a slur in another one

The home team managed to win in sudden death, but Telge, who is currently last in the league with only one win through the season, put up one hell of a fight. Here’s them scoring ten seconds after the start of the second period to go up 4-3. They got really close to pulling this off

AIK won 8-4 completely annihilated Djurgården which is one of the top 2 teams in the league. The home fans were electric and the game ended up with a big fight

I’m a Hovet, the historic hockey arena in Stockholm for the AIK-Djurgården derby, a rivalry that is just as tense if not more in hockey than in soccer. Crazy that these two historic teams with lots of championship have been struggling in the second tier (Djurgården went to the finals 5> yrs ago!!)

So apparently in Sweden they have this thing called the National Championship Week where a bunch of sports get together in a location and are shown on the first channel of the public television and yes you have big sports like cross country skiing but also minigolf and… fake rowing?
