I have also updated and expanded the theoretical substance, situating it within the state’s current political agenda and a debate in Türkiye, the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative.

I decided to publish it as a preprint not only because of this history but because I have learned the value of open science. Reading countless valuable preprints convinced me to step outside my academic box and finally share my own work this way.

This manuscript had a 6-year history: accepted for a special issue that was later cancelled, caught in repeated review cycles, rejected on procedural grounds, and even dismissed at one point because its theoretical roots lay in my MA/PhD work.
