We know that simply honoring those we’ve lost will never be enough. We’re clear-eyed about the danger trans communities continue to face, and the fight for trans rights that lies ahead.

Widespread poverty, homelessness, and discrimination renders trans people 4x more likely to experience violence than the average person.

No one should have to live in fear to be who they are.

Ohio has legalized, but not yet repaired.🌿

SB 56 includes provisions that recriminalize cannabis, remove voter-approved protections for cannabis consumers, and ignore voters’ clearly expressed interest in repairing the harms of past criminalization.

We OPPOSE this bill. 🚨🚨

The bill was sent to conference committee, a temporary group of Ohio House and Senate lawmakers that come together to work out differences between versions of the bill. But, lawmakers are expected to ban all "intoxicating" hemp products in a vote TODAY.

Earlier this year, the Ohio House passed an amended version of SB 56, which makes significant, regressive changes to our state’s cannabis laws - the laws voted on BY Ohioans in 2023. 🚨

The Ohio Senate voted to NOT concur with the amendments passed by the House - leading to a standstill.

Amended SB 293 was voted out of committee and will move to the House Floor. This is a step back for voter access in Ohio.

Sec. LaRose shares that only a "small" percentage of ballots were received during the current four-day window post Election Day.

📢📢 That should not be a reason to end the grace period. EVERY vote should count. Lawmakers must support Ohio voters, not create harmful barriers.

The Sponsors of the bill, Sen. Gavarone + Sec. of State LaRose, are now providing sponsor testimony.

➡️Our state’s election law requires that absentee ballots be postmarked on the day before Election Day. Maintaining a window of time for Boards of Elections to receive those ballots simply allows for eligible votes to be counted.

Right off the bat, lawmakers adopted an amended version of SB 293 - only provided early this morning.

It is unfair for elected officials to hastily move bills through the Committee process that would detrimentally impact our election process. 🚨

Together, we urged the court to reverse the District Court’s original decision, encouraging the District to instead adopt policies that protect student speech while retaining the ability to punish speech that crosses the line into harassment or causes a substantial disruption to the school setting.
