Just a reminder that the Republicans are happy for you to waste your time sputtering about their contradictions and lies. The point is grabbing and keeping power. Power is all that matters. They are laughing at you for pointing out, for example, that their policies are antichristian or antilife.

I'm visiting the U.S. The news, and the handling of it by American journalists, is so thoroughly nauseating that I cannot wait to return to Europe.

Watching CNN right now as they talk about the Maryland man mistakenly sent to El Salvador. These journalists just refuse to call this what it is. They act like this is just some policy dispute. This is authoritarianism. It's here. Here now. This is NOT "what it looks like." This is it.

This is something I wrote about 20 years ago in my academic career -- the structural biases of journalism. This is an example of "status quo bias." American journalism is structurally incapable of dealing with anything that doesn't match its romantic view of democracy and its role in same.
Actually I know at least one Trump biographer who has been saying this for some time and been ignored
Journalists are trying to understand Trump’s irrational behavior, and are generally unwilling to consider the possibility that it's not some grand strategy, but a madman with increasingly diminished mental faculties.

I'm sick and tired of seeing the so-called "department of government efficiency" in the news and on social media treated as if it's a real government thing. It's not. Stop capitalizing it, put quotes around it, and modify it with so-called. Stop normalizing it!!!

I'm getting sick of the daily posts horrified over the latest thing Trump and his goons have done. The sides have been chosen. No one's changing sides. It's time to act. Revolution now.

So what to do? I'm getting a steady stream of follows from random people. The early ethic here has been following back. But this is now getting absurd. So, unless you're a media professional, a news professional, or are otherwise interested in visual storytelling, I'm not going to follow back.
