See here, the inherent superiority of the ugly christmas sweater.

Cold? Nope, you're wearing a sweater.
Uncomfortable? You can wear whatever you want under the sweater.
Not festive enough? Would I wear a sweater this ugly if I weren't in a festive mood?

Correct, but the government is currently shut down and they aren't getting paychecks. So many of them apply for unemployment benefits to bridge the gap (even though they have to pay it back).

So they're implying those workers will get no paycheck (shutdown) and no backup (UI)

You know who temporarily qualifies for unemployment? Furloughed federal workers.

The one who did it (in multiple cases) in my area was "extremely busy" and "between legal research programs." He plans to surrender his license.

I'm Ace as hell, so I'm skewed on this, but sometimes a fade-to-black implied sex scene can do a lot more emotionally than actual sex. Sex...isn't always that sexy. It can feel like seeing how the sausage is made (pun intended). Sometimes the sex scene does develop the characters. Sometimes not.

So setting fire to the drone is illegal, but hypothetically, how well do drones burn?

I do, however, support them challenging the zoning approval, because this is kinda bs. The franchise should have to apply for Type 2 and get put up for city council approval.

Not as "high stakes" confidential information, but around here we just had an attorney using AI to write briefs. He works on parental termination cases.

I can only say it's not longer in a few Illinois Targets, can't speak beyond that

I don't hate scents, I just dislike my armpits turning into a raging itchy fire that takes weeks to get rid of if I accidentally use a scented deodorant. Target has stopped carrying my sensitive deodorant. Meijer does carry it, but I have to be very careful when I'm shopping.

Since you were only interested in the sanctions risk. But the mentioned case wasn't only about violating sanctions either (money laundering, tax evasion, etc.), so the other risks are important too and Kathryn Tewson is worth listening to. Because the current DOJ would be happy to charge liberally

I am a lawyer, I can't give you legal advice. I can however direct you to this Office of Foreign Asset Control's page to point out if you don't know precisely where those funds are going, you could violate US sanctions. ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-pr...

Had a woman tell me how everything would be better if we had a flat income tax rate.

She had also just been complaining about how Illinois does everything wrong.

I told her Illinois has a flat tax rate.

She did not believe me.

We had just had a failed constitutional referendum on changing it.

Sauron did not make the Palantirs, but after he gained access to one, he could control what other stones showed and concealed.
The stones are themselves useful, but only in so far as how wise you are to guide what it shows. They are inherently knowledge without wisdom, so still a telling name...

I kept seeing posts about how "there's no reason to file taxes this year since the IRS won't have staff" (this would be extremely foolish for anyone with a W2 in particular)

Wonder how many of those people are chickening out at the last minute
