I used to work in a warehouse using safety knives like the one pictured. One shift, I was tasked with breaking down old boxes for the first time.

It's in other comics from around the time, too, Avengers, X-Men, one of the Spider-Mans... I don't recall it in the 70s comics I've read, but definitely 80s and (obviously) 90s.
