This is fitting considering you probably taught a lot of their students. You’re basically Next-Gen Bill Nye in the sense that you’re the science guy so many people look up to now. No pressure or anything. 😜 Well earned! Congrats! 👏🏻

Commercial lens tend to have multiple blades. Could be a similar setup or completely different. Idk. I know cameras, not telescopes, so I was hoping that someone with more knowledge about DSCOVR could weigh in. At this point, I think I just need to do a deep dive of how DSCOVR is built.

Telephoto lenses have a similar issue but I would think a powerful telescope uses different tech. Usually vignettes are feathered more since they’re too close for focus, so if that is what it is, how is it such a clean line? Maybe it has multipoint focus or something like that.

Yeah, I added an arrow to point to it on both sides. Too small and the background is too dark to see if it’s a circular border that wraps all the way around, but I’m guessing it’s a vignette. Either from the barrel of the telescope, filters, or a hood used to block out light noise from the sides.

There are four and many more 😁

You need enough internal storage to hold programs & downloads. The rest can be external. If you travel a lot it’s easier to have it on board and transfer later. I go for the largest, but I edit video and work with large images. It does make life easier, so is convenience worth the extra cost to you?

For quantities, you’ll need a minimum of 500-1K for offset printing. 2K is where you’ll start to see savings. On-demand is easier, but far more expensive to print per book. It can save you pallet rental costs on distribution though, so it’s a good option for newbies who don’t have sales projections

Oh and covers are their own special thing. Bleeds for laminated CMYK hardcovers tend to be between 1”-2” on all sides. Keep text or other important things at least 1/8”-1/4” away from trims and wraps

1/8” bleed is standard but check with the printer because some don’t use inner bleeds at all and some printers prefer 1/4”. Also page counts are usually in sets of 4 or 8. Good luck with your corrections!
