I was there last year, I loved our hotel - it was family run, artsy - BUT, the sex tourism was very obvious and worse old men with kids. I much preferred Krabi which was more family orientated

Women are portrayed as 3 things, mother, virgin, whore - it's biblical misogyny. Women are the temptress - men are the ones who get trapped as opposed to dealing with ramifications of their actions. It's ludicrous.

I'm no expert but I travel a lot... I largely head out of my way to NOT go to tourist destinations
