An RGB to YPBPR converter through Component Cables.
First I got a Retrotink RetroRGB

then, for a 2nd setup, a cheaper alternative I found on AliExpress:

(Not exactly this one, but something similar.)

By increasing the internal resolution (x4), the filter becomes unnoticeable. And by using scripts to exactly reduce the window size by 1/2 (320x240), and centering it within a 256x224 screen resolution, the result is pretty much 1:1 what it would look like running from a NES.

...All I know is that I want to drop the goofy "Improvement Projects Addendum" name and turn this into a proper "X5 Tweaks", customizable patching and all. At least, for the more important stuff.
Let's see if I manage to get there during my lifetime.

This is all stuff I've been working on on-and-off during the last few years, with very long pauses in between. I'm currently in one of those pauses, so I don't have a timeframe for a release.

The other notable thing I've worked for some time now is reworking the bosses leveling system. I'm trying to do something interesting with it, not just removing it and cutting down life bars to a default (although that's gonna be an option too.)
