it's fine haha. I mean it's been 2 weeks and I haven't touched episode aigis reload so oops 💀 but I did enjoy a lot of parts of the fes version so I have a lot of thoughts on the changes reload makes whenever I see them

furthermore it just feels out of place for him to be treated as carefree, then to swing around to him not feeling that way at the end of the scene, there's a bit of tonal dissonance there

This scene doesn't exist in FES, this is a new P3R scene.

My issue with this scene is that this feels like early Junpei, not ending Junpei. he shouldn't be acting so carefree here - by this point, he understands the stakes of combat, he should be much more rational/mindful by this point.

I played the original FES version and I did enjoy the plot fwiw. I think a lot of my concerns come from the changes that Reload made, because I have seen that they made a lot of writing changes to it

not feeling nearly as much of that so far with episode aigis reload. but I'm sure the difficulty falls off hard later on so we'll see if my opinions change on this.

gameplay wise: it's actually been rather fun, surprisingly so given it's p3r (base game gameplay was awful)

but this has actually been a reasonable difficulty and the dungeon crawling has been decent :) i do actually enjoy the fes gameplay but even I found the answer a bit tedious to go through -

they had this right in FES too where you could tell in *all* of Junpei's actions and lines that he had grown. granted, this cutscene wasn't in the original version of the answer, but it feels like they just fundamentally misunderstood him here. it felt very out of place.

junpei throughout p3 grows from being impulsive and reckless to one of the most rational/calm characters in the team. so what is this? it's like they forgot how to write him and just reverted to early game junpei. he even pretends to understand when it's clear he doesn't, which... ???? what??

they added a new event once everyone has their combat gear. there's a bit with junpei being the only one not worrying, but at the end of the scene, he does seem worried, and i just have to wonder if there were two teams writing each half of this scene?...

i have more thoughts on this scene too.

junpei is expressive as ever. these are good poses/expressions for him lol
