In any case in France the amount of shame and self-censorship with our own English speaking skills is crazy (though it's probably quite a lot better now than some decades ago)

As a French person I always have some kind of inferiority complex wrt Dutch or Nordic people because it seems they naturally have an accent that seems (at least to me) quite close to a native one, while for French it is really hard not to have a really noticeable French accent

en plus la possibilité d'avoir accès à tant de livres immédiatement change bcp la manière de lire : tu entends parler d'un livre, tu peux tout de suite jeter un coup d'oeil, voir si ça vaut la peine de le lire en entier... tant de choses que j'aurais jamais lu sans ça (même en étant moins radin)
