Ok so I had the same thing happen, I disconnected on shift then hit the connect button on twitch and relinked them from there and then it gave me my skin. Idk if you've done it that way but that's what worked for me

It depends on the save options. In that time period where games only allowed 1 save i continue, others I'll restart then maybe pop back into wherever I'd saved before
