Do players have a July 1 deadline to exercise Player options/opt-outs?

CBA and 2025 Competition Manual read to me as both teams and players have a July 1 deadline

But I could see a difference between player opt-out and player option and maybe an agreement was made about the player option deadline?

FWIW, I went to scan the 2025 Comp Manual and I’m still only seeing the July 1 deadline for exercising options whether by Team or Player

Must Player Opt-outs be exercised before July 1 or else they would be deemed waived and the Player would be listed on the NWSL Free Agent List?

Not to mention Alyssa needs to be resigned this year and that will be $500K+

Correction: Alyssa is a FA at the end of this season. We need to keep cap space open to sign her by the end of this year.
