And once it becomes imported, the error messages tell you nothing - project uses some kind of networking? libssl can't be found! Turns out despite having the development libraries and headers installed just fine for other projects, unity wants a legacy version to use. joy.

Absolutely an element comes from the fact I'm not very well versed in their workflows, that's fine, but it seems to me that importing a small/med-sized project into the editor should not take 15 minutes to do, and the status window shouldn't teleport between my monitors the moment I move my mouse!
