Thank you. I remember thinking how wrong it felt when so many cheered & celebrated bin Laden’s death. Satisfaction and relief seemed right, along with sadness at the necessity of the loss of human life — but not glee.

Beautiful.

I’d missed that fact. Happy Birthday! I appreciate your work.

I never could figure it out (I, too, read all the Reddit threads). I finally gave up and switched apps.

If I recall correctly, the podcast version of this from a few weeks ago was much clearer than the headline here that this is primarily a ROCOR thing. Even back when I was a grad student in the 90s occasionally visiting the Orthodox Christian listserv, ROCOR seemed a bit out there.

Bummer. I’d have thought that Chicago Sports Network covered the whole Chicago area. MLB licensing is insane.

Aren’t the Sox available over the air? I can can get them via antenna here in the South Bend area. (Which is nice, because MLB.tv blacks me out when the Twins play them.)

That might vary by location. When I had Hulu Live, they had my locals. Definitely something to check, though.

There’s no separate fee. Both carry Fox, so I’m sure there’s a licensing fee baked in to the price, but that would be true for any package that carries major news channels.

I have the same thing w/XFinity. Last summer I moved to their prepaid Now service. It was easy to put the modem in bridge mode & it plays nice w/my mesh router. I get 100 down/20 up for $30; could pay $45 for 200 down. Don’t know if prepaid is available to @radiofreetom.bsky.social or fast enough.

Excellent point. YTTV is far better for families with kids away at school.
