[Today is the one year anniversary of my Dad's passing]
I only had a few decades to know him In that time, he raised me up to be A person of moral quality, someone Who stands up for the oppressed He taught me to seek wisdom Wherever it may be found Imparted a sense of duty to self & others, to share my burdens Or to listen to another's troubles So that all loads may be lighter He passed on his love of words I sculpt them now, as he did then So others may feel his warm hug The way I remember it to be

Ever start to compose rhyme But then stop, when you just happen to find Smatterings of moments, outside time Shattering psyche, with past ties that bind To raise an unquiet inside your mind That lasts until your heart & soul align? I have attempted to make mine align By continuing with purpose for rhyme In my journey thus far, I seem to find Poets & artists that I keep in mind For their wisdom helps, when I'm in a bind This loyal support makes good friends, in time I spoke with one poet, lost track of time Between languages, our words would align Gave me an invite to Discord, a bind For I wasn't sure they would like my rhyme & had no knowledge of what I would find As the anxiety raced through my mind I said hi, dropped an intro, pay no mind Hung out in the chat, for some length of time Slowly warmed up to the poets I'd find & took note of our values that align Then I posted a poem that chimes with rhyme As nervous knots held me firm in their bind Reception was warm, no longer in bind A sense of belonging engulfed my mind Inspired me to keep writing in rhyme Suddenly, after lending bits of time Helping community refine, align A note in my inbox, what's this I find? I open the message, only to find The architect of this space had a bind She needed a full mod to help align The group, as the last one couldn't mind His manners & was banned for all time My reply: 'I'll safeguard this place of rhyme' I gratefully find, inside of my mind The pieces I bind, have healed with time I feel them align, to create this rhyme

A girl fell into a curious hole A chasm, the mouth of a bottle That Klein had designed Möbius strips, intertwined With Cheshire charge to keep stable An invert display of left-handed sway Too non-orientable for Alice to handle Falling inside, meant that traversing a side Would be a global geometry gamble She walked on a path, assumed to be flat But couldn't perceive every angle That carried away, her feet followed that Which mirrored her likeness, entangled Stuck in a pinch, twice in a twist Her systems all flipped in reverse This caused her to flinch, not expecting this State change between worlds would hurt Pain is but a moment, as the charges balance While matter & shadow combine Alice will foment, the birth of all talents The Big Bang now springs from her mind

Why does darkness attract our deeper fears? Shadows maligned by some, alight with worry Can they not see? Their light casts the shadow Notice how deeper fears have no part in this They deeply fear shadow, not for its properties But for ill intent of some who deepen shadow By deciding to hide behind an opaque cloak To cast their deeper fears upon another's walls The way to display what photons cannot touch Is to frame your light inside the darkness, or Let light shine within your own shadows cast To merge the opposites so they finally attract So dwell there safely, align your light aloft Take apart the waves with mental double slit Project shadow as quantum camera obscura Then cast deeper truths upon your own walls
